Cheap parking at Manchester Airport

If you’re called Charlotte, you’re in luck if you’re flying from Manchester  on May 23. To celebrate the launch of American Airlines’ inaugural flight to North Carolina, there’s free lounge access at Manchester Airport for anyone called Charlotte, which also happens to be the name of the state capital.

The daily service is one of the new long-haul routes at the UK’s third busiest airport this year andm as well as providing a direct route to North Carolina, it will provide onward connectivity across North America and beyond.

On the launch day, ladies named Charlotte (and flying to any destination) will get the chance to spend their pre-boarding time at any of the Escape Lounges in terminals one, two and three that day.

All any Charlottes need to do, is present their passport and valid boarding card at one of the three lounges to gain complimentary access that day.

The Escape Lounges at Manchester Airport are normally charged at £18.99 and offer guests a peaceful setting with complimentary food and drinks, free Wi-Fi and a wide range of newspapers and magazines to read.

Beth Brewster, Retail Director at Manchester Airports Group (MAG) said: “We hope people of every name enjoy the new route from Manchester Airport and are sure many will enjoy the relaxed surroundings of our award-winning lounges before their flights.

“The Escape Lounges offer something for every type of passenger – be that business or leisure – and we look forward to welcoming all Charlottes on May 23.”

Flights to Charlotte depart each day from Manchester at 14.25pm and will run until September 2014, with return fares starting from £656.
