Cycling holidays in the UK and Europe are selling out fast, particularly for routes taking in sections of the Tour de France, according to activity holiday specialist Macs Adventure.

The company, experts in walking and cycling breaks, has seen a 300 per cent increase in bookings since this time last year.

According to the company, the growth is due to a huge number of people taking up biking for pleasure on the back of last year’s cycling success at the Olympics, while news that the world’s largest cycling festival will be staged in London this summer will continue to keep the sport in the spotlight.

To cater for demand, Macs has introduced more trips for 2013 aimed at all levels.

For the experienced: Take the Grand Départ Corsica, cycling the roads of the Tour de France. The year, Le Tour starts on the Mediterranean island of Corsica and you can join in the action by cycling some of Corica’s best rides and watch the first, second and third stages.
