Half-price hols for single parents

Lowcostholidays have linked up with a range of Mediterranean hotels to offer single parent families up to 50 per cent off summer holidays. Normally hotels only pass on “kids free” savings when two adults share a room with children but the travel operators believes this is unfair on the two million single families in the UK.

MD Tim Buckman said: “Our customers have been in touch with us via social channels such as Facebook asking for our help and we’ve been working hard to try to find a solution to bring down the cost of a single parent holiday. We agree it’s unfair and are launching a programme of hotels offering savings of up to 50 per cent off hotel prices to help resolve the issue. We are pleased that nearly 100 hotels have joined the programme but we want more to come on board.”

Hotels in mainland Spain, the Canaries, Cyprus and Turkey are available. Holidays include seven nights B&B at a three-star hotel in Turkey from £159 per person based on one adult and one child sharing, including flights from Gatwick and seven nights all-inclusive at a four-star hotel on the Costa del Sol from £329 per person including flights from Luton in July.
