Just married? Get your guests to pay for the honeymoon

Mamanucas

Spent the lot on the wedding and left short for your honeymoon? Audley Travel has launched a honeymoon gift list service where your guests can help contribute to the cost.

The free service allows the couple to create their own personalised website with details about the wedding and the honeymoon – and guests can choose to contribute to the costs of the trip.

The travel company is also highlighting a list of current favourite honeymoons, including:

Safari & Wildlife Honeymoons

While Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Botswana are still popular choices, Audley are finding that many couples are looking at Namibia and Borneo as they can be more cost effective. A 15-day Borneo Adventure itinerary combining adventure, wildlife and the beach costs from £2,565 per person including flights, transfers and accommodation. It includes time in the colonial city of Kuching, a night in a tribal longhouse, seeing orang-utan at Semenggok, exploring Bako National Park and relaxation on the beaches of Gaya Island.

Beach Honeymoons

The Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius, the Seychelles and the Maldives continue to see the most honeymooners – with many couples choosing to combine the Maldives with culture-rich Sri Lanka. However more unusual beach options are also becoming popular with Fiji proving popular. A 14 day Taste of Fiji itinerary visiting the main island of Viti Levu and the beaches of the Mamanucas costs from £3,000 per person including return flights and transfers and 3 star accommodation.

Adventure Honeymoons

Destinations such as Costa Rica, New Zealand and Australia are always popular, as is Brazil. A 15 day Wild Brazil itinerary that takes in the Amazon rainforest, the vast Iguaçu Falls, exploring the Pantanal by kayak and a torch-lit walk in the Amazon at night, costs from £3,925 per person including all flights, transfers, accommodation and excursions.
