Leeds tops Monarch’s league

Following the news that British Airways has launched a new route to Leeds-Bradford Airport comes a further boost for the city and its airport.

Leeds United has announced that Monarch Airlines has become official sponsor of the North Stand (the Revie Stand) at Elland Road.

Monarch has entered into the sponsorhip agreement with the Club to provide substantial marketing support for the launch of its sixth UK airport base, Leeds Bradford and its two new winter routes to Grenoble and Munich which launching this weekend and its 12 new routes for summer 2013.

Under theagreement Monarch will enjoy at high profile at Elland Road with Monarch branding featuring both inside and outside the ground.

Leeds United Chief Executive Shaun Harvey said, “We are delighted that Monarch will be working with the Club to support its new routes flying from Leeds Bradford Airport.Their investment into the airport is extremely positive news for both the community and for the local economy with new jobs being created at the airport.

Through our new partnership we aim to make Monarch the first choice carrier for European flights for Leeds United fans all across the UK and will be working closely with Monarch to deliver some exciting promotional fares and competitions to our fan base over the coming months.”

Monarch’s winter flights from Leeds Bradford Airport to the ski destinations of Munich and Grenoble start tomorrow (December 14) and Saturday (December 15) and scheduled flights for summer start from March 22 2013. They include the destinations of Lanzarote, Antalya, Barcelona, Bodrum, Dalaman, Faro, Rome, Heraklion, Larnaca, Menorca, Majorca and Tenerife.
