Two London hotels have won TripAdvisor awards for excellence.

The  Charing Cross and The Grosvenor Hotel – both part of the Guoman group – won the awards after a series of glowing reviews on the travel website. Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive the accolade.

Glenn Hallam of the Charing Cross Hotel (above) said: “The award is a real testament to our hardworking, dedicated staff who deliver world-class service to our guests every single day,” while his colleague Ian Fletcher from The Grosvenor said: “We are proud to be named as one of the top rated hotels by TripAdvisor users – not just in London, but worldwide. “

To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

The Charing Cross is a Grade II listed building next to Trafalgar Square, which has recently undergone a multi-million pound restoration, while the Grosvenor is London’s oldest railway hotel next to the  Victoria station. It celebrated its 150th anniversary last year.
