Dover-Calais ferry operator MyFerryLink has come up with a gorgeous pampering treat for Mum on Mother’s Day. The historic Westminster Hotel in Le Touquet is offering relaxing treatments in its Nuxe spa and is just 30 minutes’ drive from Calais.

Hop on one of MyFerryLink’s superferries and drive Mum down to Le Touquet where she can enjoy a luxurious pampering session, followed by a meal and shopping. Body treatments start from £48 and, with return day trip crossings from £22 for a car and up to nine people, all the family can go.

The charming seaside resort of Le Touquet is famous for its long sandy beaches, elegant shops and beautiful pine forest surroundings. The Hotel Westminster (above), with its stunning Art Deco interiors, was once a favourite haven for the rich and famous, including Noel Coward and Marlene Dietrich.

Its spa boasts five treatment rooms and choice of beauty therapies including facials, body treatments and massages. Mum can also enjoy the Hammam, Jacuzzi, sauna and heated indoor swimming pool complete with 1930s murals. Afterwards, you can have a meal in the hotel’s 1930s style Brasserie or Le Pavillion restaurant, overlooking the terrace. Michelin starred chef, William Elliott, is renowned for his use of mouthwatering local produce. www.westminster.fr

Le Touquet’s streets are perfect for window shopping and if you can’t resist popping in to buy a few local goodies, try Chocolats de Beussent, which showcases the best products from Bruno and Alain de Rik’s nearby chocolate factory. There’s still plenty of glitz and glamour about Le Touquet, and the rue St Jean is a fun place to hang out with a coffee at one of the many pavement cafés and people watch.

MyFerryLink operates 16 daily crossings on the Dover-Calais route. Return day trip crossings for a car and up to nine passengers start from just £22 and any duration crossings for a car and up to nine passengers start from £29 each way.
