Sail on new ship Celebrity Edge which has a touch of magic!

The newest cruise ship to sail the seas has been revealed – and it’s magic! Celebrity Edge boasts fantastic features including suites with plunge pools, infinite balconies, a rooftop garden, a living wall of plants and a Magic Carpet.

The Magic Carpet, an all-glass venue suspended from the ship’s side, moves 14 decks up and down offering different experiences ranging from an exclusive restaurant, Dinner on the Edge, to an embarkation lounge for the ship’s private luxury launches.

At 1,000 feet long and accommodating more than 2,900 guests, Celebrity Edge will be officially named and launched by UN Messenger of Peace and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday, December 4.

Jo Rzymowska, boss of Celebrity Cruises UK, Ireland and Asia, says: “Celebrity Edge has to be seen to be believed – there is simply no other holiday retreat at sea or on land like it. Taking luxury cruising to a new level, the ship has been four years in the planning, design and build. Through collaboration with world renowned designers and architects, we have reimagined what it means to holiday at sea and can’t wait for the world to experience it.”

Interior designer Kelly Hoppen MBE was responsible for the design of the infinite balconies which bring the outdoors inside, blurring the boundaries between ship and sea.

We are sailing: Stunning Celebrity Edge is launched next week

The luxurious suites range from twin-level villas with outdoor plunge pools to suites with 82 feet of glass commanding stunning vistas out to sea from the lounge, bedroom and dining room. One of the most imaginative spaces is Eden, spanning three decks and offering more outward facing glass than any other room at sea, which houses the 18ft Library of Plants living wall, restaurants and entertainment space.

There are 29 restaurants, cafes, bars and lounges on board, a spa and fitness centre designed by Kelly Hoppen, and the first Peloton bikes at sea.

Celebrity Edge’s inaugural season of eastern and western Caribbean cruises begins on December 9. A nine-night Caribbean fly/cruise costs from £3,429 per person based on two sharing Infinite Balcony accommodation. The same cruise staying in an Edge Villa costs £24,300 per villa. Prices based on April 2019 departure.
