Here he is – the winning Slide Tester for First Choice’s all-inclusive SplashWorld resorts. Splashin’ Seb Smith, 22, beat more than 2,000 contestants to the £20,000 a year job.
The five-month Slide Tester search ended with Seb and four other finalists competing in a series of challenges in front of judges at the five-star Iberotel Makadi Saraya Splash Resort in sunny Hurghada, Egypt.
Seb said: “I’m over the moon and can’t wait to get started in my new job! I can’t believe I’ll be travelling the world judging slides based on the ‘biggest splash’ and ‘adrenalin factor’. It’s going to be amazing and I’m really looking forward to being part of the First Choice team and to sharing my experiences with holidaymakers via Twitter and Facebook.”
As well as a passion for water slides, Seb from Somerset loves sport, travelling and movies. He is currently completing a degree in Design Technology at the University of Leeds where he developed a love for social media and blogging.
Seb will be given a six-month contract where he will get to test the slides and flumes at SplashWorld water parks in destinations such as Majorca, Turkey and Egypt.
In addition to a salary of £20,000 per annum, all overseas travel expenses will be paid and Seb will be given a seven-night holiday for two staying at a First Choice All Inclusive resort at the end of the six months.
