Sunspot holidays to favourite destinations are cheaper in 2015 than last year, says On the Beach.

The beach holiday specialists reveals research shows destinations such as the Greek Islands and Turkey will cost less with some holidays up to a third cheaper.

Prices compared seven night holidays for two adults during the summer this year with those from 2014, and the results showed massive savings.

With the pound recently reaching a seven year high against the euro, holidays to sunspot destinations are up to 28% cheaper this year, with the Turkish resort of Izmir offering the best value this summer. Holidays in the Dalaman and Antalya regions are 7% and 6% cheaper than 2014.

Halkidiki (above) on Greece’s mainland, costs up to 22% less. Some of the country’s most popular sun-kissed islands are also offering cheaper holidays, with Santorini (down 11%) and the ever-popular destination of Zakynthos (down 10%).

Tunisia also shows a significant drop in prices, with holidaymakers saving up to 17% on holidays in the popular resort of Hammamet. Croatia and Madeira are also offering better value, with holidays up to 14% and 12% cheaper than last year.

Alistair Daly, Chief Marketing Officer at On the Beach, says: “Our research shows there are many good bargain holidays to be had this year, with some of the most popular destinations showing significant savings. As we move closer to the peak season, many hoteliers will try to entice British holidaymakers by offering very attractive discounts and with the Pound performing well against the Euro, 2015 looks like a great year to bag a great value holiday.”
