A travel company has launched the world’s first vampire holiday in the UK.

The vampire vacation with luxury holiday rentals company Oliver’s Travels sees mini-break luxuries such as feathery-soft beds, wood burners and light airy rooms replaced with padded and silk-lined coffins and blacked out windows.

The holiday, at a manor house in the countryside outside Edinburgh is designed to appeal to the supposed 15,000 vampires living in the UK.

The Big Vampire Weekends will be held at Fenton Tower. Staffed by fellow blood-thirsty vamps working from dusk ’til dawn the stay at the house which sleeps 12 also includes:

  • All water in the property will be distinctly unholy;
  • All mirrors and reflective services have been removed;
  • All crosses, bibles or sharp wooden objects removed from the area;
  • A tasting menu available daily from dusk, with a complete ban on garlic in the property and mud pie made with soil from native Transylvania;
  • On-demand vampire film screenings and TV shows, from Count Dracula to Twilight and the Vampire Diaries.

To complete this one-off experience, optional extras including midnight walks through the spooky countryside and blood dripping cocktails on demand can all be booked through the Oliver concierge service.

Oliver Bell, co-founder of Oliver’s Travels said: “All of our handpicked, luxury properties have something unique and quirky about them, but I have to say the Big Vampire Weekender is a first of its kind, and we plan to create the most haunting Halloween holiday package out there.”

The Big Vampire Weekender can be found via oliverstravels.com and will cost £600 per person based on a two day-and-night stay and 12 sharing from October 31 to November 1.

To book the property, guests must prove they are a vampire. To see if you qualify, take the test at surveymonkey.com/s/PBLN3YL.
