Norfolk: Kids love camping and Pitchup.com still has some availability next month. Pods at the Camping Mega Pod at King’s Lynn Camping and Caravan Park – set in 10 acres just outside the town – cost from £45 a night and sleep up to four people, with a minimum two-night stay. The pods are fully equipped with beds, electricity and cooking facilities.
Tenerife: You can’t beat this Canary isle for a family holiday. The four-star Iberostar Las Dalias in the heart of Playa del Bobo is just 500 yards from Costa Adeje’s super beaches. The resort has an excellent kids’ club and you can book B&B, half-board, full-board or all-inclusive.

Orlando: It’s amazing there is any availability for Orlando during the school holidays with the recent opening of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter park, Diagon Alley. But Lowcostholidays is offering seven nights room-only at the three-star Seralago Hotel & Suites, flying from Manchester on August 20, from £752 per person, based on two adults and two children sharing.
Scotland: Parents go free! PGL’s Isle of Arran centre welcomes families with children as young as six for holidays that take advantage of the Scottish island’s natural beauty. There are sea-cliffs to abseil down, boulders to climb and forest tracks to ride. All activities, equipment and tuition, as well as simple accommodation and meals are included in the price, but not ferry crossing to the island.
Price is £509 per adult, children six to 18 costs £449. A “parents go free” offer is valid for holidays starting August 23, when each child may bring a parent for free! MUST BOOK by July 25.
Thailand: Save up to £400 per family. Seven nights B&B at the Amari Phuket on a secluded beach at the southernmost corner of Patong with views of Patong Bay and the gorgeous Andaman Sea. The price of £1,847 is for two adults and one child, aged 15 or under, and flights from Heathrow between July 20 and August 20. Book by July 31.
Ireland 1: Kids go free to Ireland on cottage package holidays. Book a cottage on a self-drive package and up to four children under 16 are free with Irish Ferries. A peak August week at Waterville Holiday Homes in County Kerry costs £1,011 for a family of six including return car ferry from the UK.
The holiday homes are a few minutes’ walk from the pretty seaside village, with family-friendly pubs and restaurants. Sandy beaches at Ballinskellings and Derrynane are 15 minutes’ drive away.
