It seems that Tourism Australia have another hit on their hands – more than half a million people have applied for their new Best Jobs In The World competition.

Launched a month ago, the campaign asks people to apply for one of six ‘dream’ jobs in Australia with a six-month contract and  salary package said to be worth AU$100,000 each.

The jobs include Lifestyle Photographer (Melbourne), Chief Funster (New South Wales), Outback Adventurer (Northern Territory), Park Ranger (Queensland), Wildlife Caretaker (South Australia) and Taste Master (Western Australia) and there is still time to get an application in by uploading a video entry by April 10 to www.australia.com/bestjobs.

The original competition by Tourism Australia to find someone to be caretaker of the Great Barrier Reef took place in 2009 and saw Ben Southall (above) beat 34,000 other applicants for the coveted role.

To date this year, 79,000 applications have come from the UK.
