Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones returns to our TV screens on Monday so here’s a selection of breaks at locations where the popular series was filmed.

Many of the key locations in the series were filmed in the stunning surroundings of Dubrovnik – transformed into the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos. Transun offers a range of holiday options throughout the region including ‘Discover Dubrovnik’, a three-night break that includes a private guided walking tour through the historic city. The tour of the medieval city takes in views of the Lovrijenac Fortress in the Old Town, which doubles as the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, King’s Landing, and Trsteno Arboretum, better known as the King’s Landing Palace Gardens.

Further exploration of the beautiful walled city will take visitors to the fictional trading location of Qarth via Dubrovnik’s Minčeta Tower, Lokrum Island and The Rector’s Palace. Fans can also visit the serene Parc Gradac, the beautiful garden where King Joffrey and Margaery Tyrell celebrated their wedding.
A three-night ‘Discover Dubrovnik’ package including return flights, transfers, accommodation with breakfast, a private guided walking tour and lunch at a hand-picked restaurant costs from £775 per person. See Transun

Secret Escapes also offers a number of packages including seven nights B&B, a full day Dubrovnik excursion, return flights from your selected departure airport to Dubrovnik and transfers. See Secret Escapes

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic on Monday April 7 at 9pm.
