See Camilla’s portrait on Queen Victoria

HRH The Duchess Of Corwall-Cunard Portrait-Copyright Richard

The Duchess of Cornwall is back on board Cunard’s Queen Victoria today to mark the fifth birthday of the ship she named. During her third visit she will unveil a specially-commissioned portrait of herself by Royal artist Richard Stone (above), meet 12 Prince’s Trust apprentices doing work experience and cut a birthday cake.

Her Royal Highness will be escorted on the liner, docked in Southampton, by Cunard President and MD, Peter Shanks and the Master of Queen Victoria, Captain Peter Philpott. Mr Shanks said: “We were honoured that Her Royal Highness named this fine ship, and are delighted that she continues to display such an interest both in the ship and its crew as Queen Victoria celebrates its fifth birthday. The Duchess will always be warmly welcomed on board. The portrait of her is stunning and will be admired by guests on Queen Victoria for many years to come.”

The three-quarter length portrait shows the Duchess seated and dressed in a cream suit with ruffle detailing. It will be displayed in a prominent position in the ship’s Grand Lobby.
