Do you pack your own suitcase?

They are either too idle or just hopeless at folding clothes but 5 million British holidaymakers over 50 don’t pack their own suitcase.

A Saga Travel poll of nearly 10,000 people showed almost a third of men leave the packing to their partners but just 3 per cent of women trusted their other halves. And when asked at airport check-in whether they packed their own suitcase, 22 per cent actually admitted they hadn’t!

Helen Adamson, Director of Saga Travel, said: “The over 50s seem to trust their partners implicitly to shoe horn in all the right things when travelling abroad. But not knowing what is in your bag might cause you problems if it gets lost in transit and you have to make an insurance claim. So people should make a list of contents before they travel just in case the worst happens.”

If you don’t pack your own suitcase, however old you are, tell us why in the comment box below.
