easyJet’s new holiday company will sell to 100 destinations

easyJet will sell breaks to more than 100 destinations when it launches its new holiday business at the end of the year.

And boss Garry Wilson promises that it will be “a game changer” with people able to easily book their flights and hotels – building the package they want.

There will be more than 500 hotels to choose from – handpicked by specialists for the clean, modern website – and more will be added over time.

Customers will be able to book a holiday from one-night upwards – flying on easyJet’s 320 aircraft with 100 million seats a year from UK airports.

At present easyJet flies 20 million customers a year but only 500,000 book a holiday with them.

Mr Wilson gave details of the new business – launching with ads on TV, newspapers and digital media – at the ABTA conference in Tokyo. easyJet.com/holidays will be a member of ABTA, ensuring that holidays are protected.

And that’s vital for consumers who have recently been reminded, following the demise of Thomas Cook, of how important it is to book with an ABTA and ATOL-protected company.

Mr Wilson spoke of how shocked and saddened he was by the closure of Thomas Cook and some staff would be working for easyJet Holidays.

He added: “We will be a new player who can energise the industry.”
