Why 30somethings are better at festivals

It’s Bestival this weekend, the last big bash of the season – and one of Your-Hols.com‘s favourite writers, festival fashion queen Toni Jones  has done an excellently pithy piece on what 30somethings bring to the party.

Toni is the deputy Femail editor at the mailonline.com and has worked as a fashion journalist, stylist and editor  for more than a decade, dressing celebrites, models and real women, so when she talks, youngsters should listen up.

Her tips include make every second count: “For a real life grown-up, three days off the grid and away from responsibility is a precious, precious gift,” she writes.

“There is NO WAY we are going to get so bongo’d on the first day that we sabotage the rest of a weekend away from our inbox. We have learned how to pace ourselves after missing too many amazing Sunday headliners nursing friends at the St John’s tent or trying to work out the best way to throw up in an overflowing portaloo (clue: there isn’t one).”

And if you’re in a pickle at a festival, look out for a 30something for some help and advice: “We are organised so will be carrying essential kit like chewing gum, tissues and water and don’t mind sharing (if asked nicely) because we’ve all been there. We take fancy dress really rather seriously and so will be a great source of comedy props, and we might even buy you a cider if you catch us in a particularly loved-up mood.”
