Gary Rhodes opens Abu Dhabi restaurant

Superstar chef Gary Rhodes has opened his first restaurant in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi.

The restaurant, Rhodes44, has opened at the St Regis Abu Dhabi hotel, and has a number of places to tuck into his signature dishes, including the restaurant, an outdoor garden terrace and two private dining rooms for special occasions.

“Rhodes44 continues Abu Dhabi’s legacy of bridging Western and Arabian cultures, in a setting graced with local character,” says Rhodes. “We’re eager to cater to Abu Dhabi’s diverse guests who have sophisticated tastes, from the large British community who want to savour favourite dishes from home, to the Middle Eastern guests who want to experience a European twist on the culinary traditions from this region.”

Dishes at Rhodes 44 include Watermelon, Feta and Almond Salad; Asian-inspired Seared Sumac and Pistachio King Prawns; and Pan-Fried Salmon with Flageolet Beans. There will also be a daily British classic such as steak-and-kidney pudding, and decadent desserts like Sticky Toffee Pudding and Strawberry Eton Mess.

Rhodes44 is the Michelin-starred chef’s third restaurant in the United Arab Emirates, with the other two being in Starwood hotels in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi is fast being tagged as the new Dubai… it is a similar flight time from the UK and offers a range of great hotels by the Gulf.

Kenwood Travel has five nights at the hotel, including flights, from £899.
