Jake Humphrey caught monkeying around!

GoGorillas and Jake Humpheyrey

Spot the gorilla! Only joking Jake… but you do look quite at home monkeying around with this 5ft tall beast. Fifty of the life-size colourful sculptures can be found around Norwich’s streets, parks and open spaces this summer to raise funds for charity.

You can find the locations and trail for GoGoGorillas! on display from Monday June 24 by picking up a map or downloading a free interactive App by visiting www.gogogorillas.co.uk

The glorious parade of sculptures have themes including Norwich City Football Club, Superman, Urban jungle and a Freddie-Mercury-inspired ape. The project by Wild in Art and Break – TV presenter Jake is a patron of the Norfolk charity for vulnerable people – is to raise money for the charity and the Born Free Foundation.

Martin Green, fundraising officer at Break, said: “The GoGoGorillas trail will encourage thousands of people to discover and re-discover the fine city of Norwich. The event is about raising money for charity, inspiring visitors, highlighting environmental issues and showcasing the plight of one of the world’s most endangered species. The gorillas will be a magnificent sight and showcase Norwich as a city of creativity and culture.”

The gorillas will be auctioned in October. The free App named GoGoGorillas will allow optional donations to be made through the website. Follow the project’s progress by visiting www.gogogorillas.co.uk and following on Twitter @GoGoGorillas and Facebook and Pinterest.
