Jam at Jamaica’s reggae festival

YourHols is hoping the weather inproves for Glastonbury and the V Festival but if you want to rock in the sunshine, jet off to Jamaica. Reggae Sumfest 2013, the island’s largest outdoor music festival, is being held from July 21 to 27 and there are some great holiday packages so you can be there.

Known as the “Greatest Reggae Show on Earth”, the festival will feature an electrifying set of Jamaican Dancehall and reggae superstars along with international headliners. Previous headline acts have included Usher and Nicki Minaj, and this year’s festival will see performances from Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Miguel, ‘King of the Dancehall’ Beanie Man, dancehall favourites Chronixx, Popcaan, and Kiprich, along with reggae crooner Taurrus Riley.

While the main acts are spread across three nights at Catherine Hall, other venues across Montego Bay will host events including the opening night Beach Party at Aquasol Beach Park on Sunday July 21. The musical celebrations continue on Thursday with the famed Dancehall Night, followed by International Nights on Friday and Saturday.
