If you love biking then head to Ischgl in the Austrian Tirol next week. Motorcyclists are heading for the mountains above the village from August 6-9 for the highest altitude biker meet this summer.
The thrilling hairpin bends and straight valley roads of the Silvretta mountain range have become a paradise for motorcyclists since the opening of Ischgl’s High-Bike Test Centre five years ago.
New BMW, Ducati, Triumph and KTM bikes can be hired from the centre during the summer. It’s proved so popular that the area is hosting next week’s four-day Biker Summit at 2,300m – inviting bikers to bring their own machines to enjoy guided tours, stunt shows, live bands and parties.
Stunt shows will feature professional Triumph rider Julien Welsch and KTM freeride stunt driver Dieter Rudolf.
