Meet Joanna Trollope on Virgin Trains’ book-signing

Joanna Trollope

Author Joanna Trollope will be signing her new novel Sense and Sensibility on board Virgin Trains from Manchester to London on October 21. The exact train she is catching for the “High-Speed Book Signing” has yet to be revealed but it will be mid-morning and you can find out by checking Virgin Trains Facebook page. The first 10 passengers will get a free book.

Joanna is in Manchester to close The Manchester Literature Festival, in conversation with the BBC’s Jenni Murray at the Royal Exchange on Sunday October 20. The new book  is a modern re-working of the Jane Austen classic. The book has been written as part of The Austen Project, a series in which six contemporary authors re-write each of Jane Austen’s six completed works. HarperCollins are giving  the first 10 passengers a free copy and others will be on sale on board.

Jim Rowe of Virgin Trains said: “Authors routinely travel the country to book signing sessions so we thought why not use the time travelling to sign some more. It is a fact: nowhere else will our authors sign books faster than on our Virgin high speed trains”.
