Romania’s Ice Hotel is to add a series of igloo accommodation when it opens for this winter season on Christmas Day.
The hotel, located high in the Carpathian Mountains at 2,000m, is introducing three two-bedroom igloos, each sleeping four people, perfect for families or groups of friends.
The igloos will each feature two beautifully lit bedrooms carved from ice. The rooms are larger than those inside the Ice Hotel and no two are the same. Some will feature ornately carved ice fireplaces or intricate statues and one will even include a baby piano made of ice.
To stop you from getting a chill in the -2C temperatures, there will be animal skins, woolen blankets and sleeping bags.
A four-night package is from £400 per adult with 20 per cent off on certain dates in December. Depart on Dec 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 or 30 and you pay just £320 per person. Included in the price is four nights accommodation on a B&B basis and all transfers. Flights are extra but can be bought via Wizz Air from £48.99 one way.
