Still room at Travelodge for Mary & Joseph!

It has to be nearly Christmas because Travelodge have put out their appeal to find couples called, yes you guessed it – Mary and Joseph. 

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be having a baby like Mary and Joseph (Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac, above) in the movie The Nativity Story. As long as you can prove you are called Mary and Joseph and that you are married (that rules out all those friends planning a raunchy night!), you’ll get a free room for a night during the 12 days of Christmas. That’s from Christmas Eve until January 6. And there’s more… it’s a family room so you can take the kids along to any one of their 500 UK hotels and you also get a parking space for your donkey. Sorry, car!

Shakila Ahmed, of Travelodge, said: “For the last six years we have run this offer to make up for the hotel industry not having any rooms left on Christmas Eve over 2,000 years ago and it has become quite a tradition now. This year we’ve had couples emailing us as early as August asking if they can have a room.”
