Say yee-ha to cowboy camp

Always fancied yourself as a budding John Wayne? A UK holiday company has added a Cowboy College to its US offerings.

Bon Voyage is now giving holidaymakers the chance to stay at  Seven Devil’s Lodge – an 18,000-acre ranch in Idaho.

Guests will be paired up with authentic professional working cowboys and be allocated their own horse that they will learn to ride on and take care of during their stay.  Guests will also be guided into choosing their own authentic western clothing as worn by a working cowboy on a daily basis.

When riding on the 18,000 acre ranch – located in the rugged mountains of Idaho – visitors will also learn real cowboy horsemanship, roping techniques and how to work and move cattle.  As part of the adventure guests will also be taught about the history, culture and heritage of the Wild West.

The three-day ‘experience’ – which includes all meals, one-to-one instruction, cowboy clothes and activities – can be incorporated into a 10-night fly-drive holiday combining the stunning scenery of Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

Holidays start from £2,695 per person including return flights from Heathrow, Manchester or Glasgow to Boise, Idaho, eight nights’ room-only in rustic lodges – staying in Jackson Hole and the Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks –  SUV  car hire and two nights, with all meals, instruction, cowboy clothes and activities, at the Cowboy College.
