Following today’s news that the Burj Al Arab has launched a 24-carat gold iPad service, another Dubai hotel has come up with a first.

Atlantis The Palm, the crowning glory of the Emirate’s manmade Palm Island is now allowing guests to snorkel in its huge aquarium.

The Ambassador Lagoon is the epic centrepiece of the hotel – an 11litre, 10 metre deep marine habitat with 65,000 marine animals, including sharks, fish and many species of rays – and guests will now be able to join them for £40 (AED 225) per person. The experience includes a free snorkel and mask to take home.

DialAFlight has three nights’ half-board at the hotel from £699 per person, including return flights from London until June 21.
