Thomas Land’s new £750k ride

Winston is set to arrive in Thomas Land this July

Thomas Land is celebrating its fifth birthday at Drayton Manor Theme Park with a new £750,000 ride. Winston’s Whistle Stop Tour, features the willing, loyal and extremely helpful Winston, who will be on hand to assist The Fat Controller with his terrible driving skills when it launches on Friday July 19.

The ride will take visitors around a themed track, with each of the seven inspection vehicles seating four people. Passengers will then be taken on a guided monorail tour above and around Europe’s only Thomas Land. Winston joins the 21 other rides and attractions based on the ever-popular Thomas & Friends series. Families can experience the magic of Sodor and interact with their favourite characters like never before and the new Winston’s Whistle Stop Tour ride will allow them to be able to see everything from a bird’s eye view. In good weather the Winston vehicles will be open-top.

Colin Bryan, CEO at Drayton Manor Theme Park and Hotel, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, said: “We are always looking at ways to give our visitors something new and with the celebrations of Thomas Land’s fifth anniversary, what better way to commemorate it than to bring a new character to join us!

“It is so exciting to be welcoming Winston to our growing family of rides and attractions at Thomas Land within Drayton Manor. The ride promises to entertain from the moment you take a seat – I’m sure Winston will be a big hit with everyone, young and old.

The 2013 season runs until Sunday November 3. To book tickets for the park and hotel, visit www.draytonmanor.co.uk
