The Beatles Story

Magical Mystery Tour
The tour will introduce you to the lives of The Beatles – their homes, schools, birthplaces and many other landmarks which informed the songs such as Strawberry Field and Penny Lane. Liverpool ONE
Liverpool ONE has had a huge impact on the city since opening in 2008. The 1.65 million sq ft contemporary open-air complex is a stylish must-see destination for those who love to shop, eat, drink and relax. Museum of Liverpool
The £72m Museum of Liverpool, opened in 2011, is the largest newly-built national museum in Britain for more than a century and is the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city. The distinctive building sits on the city’s famous waterfront, in between the Three Graces and the Albert Dock. The museum has attracted record visitor numbers, welcoming more than two million visitors to date.

Liverpool FC Museum
Football is integral to life in the city, and Liverpool Football Club opened a new, interactive museum in November 2013. Visitors are immersed in the history of one of the most famous clubs in the world through state-of-the-art technology, learning about legends such as Bill Shankly and Kenny Dalglish and Liverpool’s great success both home and abroad.

Ferry ‘cross the Mersey
Although cruise liners are a common sight in Liverpool, they are not the only famous ships in the city. Mersey Ferry trips are a must for visitors. For spectacular views of the iconic Liverpool waterfront and a fascinating history guide – not to mention hearing that Gerry and the Pacemakers song – take the 50-minute River Explorer from Pier Head.

Another Place
Six miles north of the city centre is Crosby, the location of Another Place – the public artwork by Antony Gormley. Another Place consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of Crosby Beach and stretching almost one kilometre out to sea. Each figure weighs 650 kilos and is made from casts of the artist’s own body. The work is an institution in the area and is truly unlike anything you have seen before.

Anglican Cathedral
Liverpool is extremely proud of its two magnificent cathedrals, Anglican and Metropolitan, located at opposite ends of Hope Street, recently voted the best street in the UK. Gothic in design, Liverpool Cathedral is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest in the world. It was designed by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, designer of the red telephone box and Battersea Power Station, and completed in 1978. The Tower Experience takes visitors to the very top of the cathedral for a bird’s eye view of the city. The journey to the top of the 331ft tower features two lifts and 108 steps, but it is well worth it for the breathtaking views.

Albert Dock
The magnificent Albert Dock Liverpool is one of the country’s top heritage attractions. Situated on the banks of the River Mersey, the attraction is also part of the Liverpool’s prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to award-winning visitor attractions including the Beatles Story, International Slavery Museum, Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool. There is also a vast choice of stylish family friendly cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as the Wheel of Liverpool.
