See Yohan Blake in Thomson cruise film

Olympic medalist Yohan Blake is starring in a film to promote Thomson cruises from his home nation, Jamaica.

The movie Dream Runners (you can watch it on the link below) sees the second fastest man in the world racing against world-famous British freerunners as they sprint across the island to reach the liner, Thomson Dream.

3RUN, who have worked on Hollywood blockbusters such as Casino Royale and World War Z, flip over Blake in the starting blocks (above) and give him a run for his money to get to the ship before it sets sail from its home port, Montego Bay.

The scenes with the silver medallist were filmed at the Jamaican runners training ground in Kingston. The fearless freerunners, below, are seen scaling Dunn’s River Falls, flipping over market stalls in Ocho Rios and diving from the cliffs in Negril, before vaulting onto jet skis to chase Thomson Dream – James Bond style.

Dream Runners is the sequel to the 2013 film, Platinum Parkour, which took freerunning to the high seas for the first time ever to unveil the multi-million pound makeover of Thomson Dream.

Helen Caron, MD of Thomson Cruises says: “We are delighted that Yohan Blake made a cameo appearance in the film to help showcase the delights his fantastic home country has to offer.”

Chase Armitage, CEO of 3RUN and Director of Dream Runners says: “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with Yohan Blake, let alone race against him! Despite running at top speed with a head start, Blake sped past us, so it’s clear to see why he is the second fastest man in the world.”

Thomson Dream sets sail from Montego Bay, Jamaica in December to destinations including Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Honduras, Belize and Mexico. See www.thomson.co.uk/cruises.
