New Sherlock Holmes attraction at Madame Tussauds London

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is making history at Madame Tussauds London. A new attraction – which for the first time has nothing to do with wax figures – will bring the famous detective to life from July 15.

The Sherlock Holmes Experience will invite guests to enter his mysterious world in a walkthrough adventure staged in the atmospheric basement of Madame Tussauds in Marylebone.

Families will get to put on Dr Watson’s deerstalker to help him find the enigmatic Sherlock in the interactive experience, which fuses storytelling, theatrical sets, illusion, actors, sound effects and spectacle.

The gripping journey will take you to some of the most famous places and moments from the popular stories – including the detective’s eclectic drawing room, along lamp-lit Victorian streets, to the dark moors where the infamous ‘demon’ hound lurks and finally to a dramatic ‘watery’ conclusion!

The Experience reflects an intriguing part of the attraction’s history. Sherlock’s creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was a regular visitor to Madame Tussauds. It is believed Doyle’s choice of Holmes’ address, just round the corner at 221B Baker Street, was influenced by his fascination with the attraction.

The Sherlock Homes Experience is being created in association with the internationally acclaimed and Olivier nominated creators of Alice’s Adventures Underground, Les Enfants Terribles, with regular collaborator and producer, ebp.

This team will also present a separately ticketed evening show, The Game’s Afoot, which will run six nights a week from July 18 to September 30 at the attraction, for visitors aged 16+.
