The first ball of the Ashes in England may only have just been bowled, but the Barmy Army  – England’s travelling fans – are already gearing up for this winter’s return series in Australia.

The Army (pictured above this week at Trent Bridge) are gearing up for the chance to see England at a new venue when Down Under this year, when the team take on the Chairman’s Tour XI in the iconic outback town of Alice Springs.

The game will take place at Traeger Park between the 29th and 30th November 2013.

Fans visiting Alice Springs for the match will be able to see the game played against the backdrop of the famous MacDonnell Ranges.

The England International Test team will arrive in the town on a private jet chartered by Qantas on November 26 following the first Test in Brisbane and they will leave on December 1, heading to Adelaide in preparation for their second Test.

Travel company Austravel is offering packages to see England in Alice Springs. Departures are on November 24 and the costs is £2,349 per person, to include international flights, two nights at Desert Gardens at Uluru and two nights at the Doubletree Hilton.
