If you’re the kind of person who spends hours pouring over websites trying to find the best time to book a cheap flight, well you can now stop. Because according to one holiday company, the cheapest deals are to be had 59 days before you want to take off.
The figure comes from holiday search site momondo.co.uk. The company’s new Flight Insight Tool is said to analyse flight data and prices for routes from the UK and offer travellers the cheapest option.
The 59 day figure came up after the company looked at the prices for the 13 most popular flight routes from London, which are Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin, Lisbon, Dublin, New York, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid, Istanbul, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Los Angeles.
The company also found that travellers could save an average of 38 per cent on the most expensive day to book which, unsurprisingly, is mainly on the actual day of departure.
Julie Pedersen of momondo said: “These figures prove that travellers need not book six or 12 months in advance, to find the best airfares.”
Thanks for sharing this information and it will be great for me because I want to know that what is the best time to buy flight tickets.
