If your kids love LEGO, Bovey Castle in Devon is the place to be. And children get to stay free at the hotel – where they can order room service LEGO kits – during February half-term. Bovey Rangers will lead activities throughout the school holidays including survival skills, photo orienteering, apple pressing, archery and hands-on sessions with reptiles and owls.
Every child is given a LEGO order form on arrival at reception to choose toys from a wide selection of box sets and once settled in the bedroom, the toy concierge (above) deliver toys straight to the door.
Bovey Castle, in North Bovey on Dartmoor National Park, has just been recognised by Smith & Family, the child-friendly hotel collective. Youngsters taste luxury as well as Mum and Dad too, they get fluffy dressing gowns and slippers just like their parents.
Activities can also be organised with the Bovey Castle team before arrival – from quad biking to falconry, rock climbing to hot air ballooning. Devon and Cornwall have miles of endless beaches and coastal paths, picturesque fishing villages to visit for the day and popular attractions such as Pennywell Farm, the Eden Project and The Big Sheep.
Rooms for two adults and two children up to the age of 14 between February 9 to 23 costs from £294 per night, including breakfast, with a minimum stay of two nights.
