Check in for a 24-carat gold iPad

Burj Al Arab 24 carar gold iPad - no 2

What do you get for the hotel that has everything? A 24-carat gold iPad.

The Burj Al Arab, the distinctive sail-shaped self-styled seven-star hotel on Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach is introducing the golden gadgets for all guests who check in from this week.

The iPads have been designed specifically for the hotel and come engraved with its logo and special software that will act as a virtual concierge for the duration of a stay. At the touch of a screen, guests will be able to access information on Dubai as well as check out the list of hotel services, including detailed descriptions of restaurant options and the spa menu, as well as private dining, butler and housekeeping services.

“Our exclusive Burj Al Arab 24-carat gold iPads epitomise Jumeirah’s philosophy of STAY DIFFERENT and further enhance our guests’ experience during their stay”, said Heinrich Morio, Burj Al Arab’s General Manager. “We have also recently introduced iMacs inside all our suites to ensure that we offer thoroughly modern guest experiences and keep up with hospitality industry trends.”

It’s not the first time that Burj Al Arab has offered a unique version of the iPad. In October 2012, the hotel premiered an exclusive 24-carat rose gold iPad as part of its Pinking Burj Al Arab campaign in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Don’t fret if you don’t want to leave the bling device behind when you check out either. Take-home versions will be on sale at the hotel’s boutique, alongside a gold iPad mini, gold iPhone 5 and gold BlackBerry Q10.
