Calling all horse lovers – a holiday company has launched horse riding tours of São Miguel in the Azores.
Already a popular destination for walkers and birdwatchers, the extensive network of trails and timeworn farming tracks in the Portuguese archipelago in the Atlantic also make the islands ideal for horse-riding.
The itineraries have been created for novice, intermediate and experienced riders and range from tours with a leisurely ten hours of riding giving plenty of time to sightsee and more intense trips for improving technique.
