Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda joint visa launched

Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda joint visa

Holidaymakers to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda can apply for a single cross-border visa from 1 January 2014, it was announced at London’s World Travel Market this week.

Future plans include expanding the visa to include Tanzania and Burundi. Ahead of the event, Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta said: “We’re already working on a joint strategy with other East African Community (EAC) member states that when we market the Maasai Mara, we also convince the tourist to see gorillas in Uganda.”

The visa will cost £60, an £18 saving on getting the three separately.
