See TV James Nesbitt’s Ireland

James Nesbitt's Ireland

Go on a tour of Ireland with actor James Nesbitt and then visit the hidden secrets he shows you. The eight-part series Ireland, starting on ITV1 next Monday, March 18, sees the Cold Feet and The Hobbit star explore his homeland and give his take on Irish life, its culture, history and people.

James says: “Ireland is a place I love. Much of Ireland is still a beautifully well kept secret and I want to take viewers on a trip round a country that they may think they know, but which still holds surprises for all of us.”

Scenic highlights of the series include County Cork and Blarney Castle, the spectacular beaches of County Kerry and the towering Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. Along the way, Nesbitt encounters some entertaining Irish characters and introduces viewers to less well-known places of interest.

Irish Ferries Holidays can put together a number of self-drive itineraries to destinations featured in the series. For example, an eight-night holiday in the south-west could include three nights in County Cork at the Carlton Kinsale Hotel, one night in County Kerry at the Castlerosse Hotel in Killarney, three nights in County Galway at the Galway Bay Hotel on Galway Bay and one night in Dublin at the Sandymount Hotel.

This self-drive package includes return ferry crossings for a car and two adults from Pembroke to Rosslare on Day 1, returning from Dublin to Holyhead on Day 9, plus eight nights’ B&B at three and four-star hotels. Price from £395 per person, based on two sharing, for travel at any time in April or May.
