Scotland plays a starring role in the new series of Jedward’s Big Adventure on CBBC as the X Factor’s dynamic duo head to Orkney for Friday’s episode.

The show appears as Scotland celebrates the start of the Year of Natural Scotland in 2013 which showcases the country’s natural landscape and beauty. On the stunning islands of Orkney, Jedward follow in the footsteps of Neolithic man, the ancient Celts and the Vikings. The Irish twins have just one day to learn about the wild, remote and surprising part of Scotland. While in Orkney, Jedward also explore ancient burial mounds, the remains of a Neolithic village and an iron age fort.

The islands of Orkney are a group of about 70 islands and skerries about six miles from the north-east tip of the Scottish Mainland.

Jedward said: “It’s an amazing experience filming this show and we can’t wait to visit more of the UK’s coolest visitor spots. We’ll be learning all the facts about each place, and we get to wear the craziest costumes. Watch out, Jedward is turning tour guide once more! It’s gonna be Jepic!”

Visitors to Orkney can experience spectacular geological formations dating back thousands of years, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, remarkable wildlife, a range of unique outdoor activities and authentic arts and crafts.
