Air New Zealand searches for Antarctica explorer

Antartica explorer

Prick up your ears budding explorers… Air New Zealand has launched a search for an intrepid Antarctica explorer to visit the frozen continent and share their experience with the world.

Antarctica: No Ordinary Place, No Ordinary Assignment will take the winner of the money-can’t-buy once in a lifetime experience to Antarctica New Zealand’s Christchurch headquarters to team up with National Geographic photographer Jason Edwards before flying south for two weeks.

The successful candidate will live at New Zealand’s Scott Base research support station on Antarctica and help draw attention to global environmental issues and the scientific research underway in Antarctica to address these.

“The best suited candidate will have a passion for the environment and want to play a role in building awareness of the efforts we all need to make to better protect the world we live in. Strong communication skills are a must along with a healthy respect for the difficult operating conditions in Antarctica,” says Air New Zealand’s Christopher Luxon.

Budding Antarctic explorers can apply at www.airnewzealand.com/voiceforantarctica before Thursday November 7, 2013 at 5.00pm NZT.
