If you’re looking for somewhere to go over the festive season, Doubletree, Hilton’s upscale hotel group, is offering a number of Christmas short breaks around the UK and Ireland.

Scotland

DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro is offering a relaxed, two night retreat over Christmas from £239 per person (£119.50 per child). Guests get Christmas Eve with tea, scones and cakes before a roaring fire and two nights’ bed and breakfast in a standard guestroom. Dinner on Christmas Eve is served in the hotel’s restaurant – The Kailyard by Nick Nairn, who was Scotland’s youngest Michelin star winner. On Christmas Day guests will be treated to a traditional festive lunch and a gala buffet in the evening.

Set within 10 acres of landscaped grounds, the Victorian-style DoubleTree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro hotel has views over the village of Dunblane.

Alternatively, the company’s latest Scottish hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton Dundee has a two-night Christmas package from £195 per person. Guests get tea and cake on arrival on Christmas Eve, a three-course dinner in The Maze Restaurant and an after dinner quiz in The Lounge. On Christmas Day, there is a four-course Christmas lunch, complete with a visit from Santa, followed by mince pies whilst watching the Queen’s speech in The Lounge and a buffet dinner that evening. Boxing Day begins with a full Scottish breakfast, after which guests can hit the sales in the city centre, relax and explore the hotel’s six acres of landscaped grounds.

Chester, Lincoln and Cambridge

DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln has a three-night Christmas escape from £249 per person. The hotel’s Electric Restaurant (pictured) has rooftop views of the city. The package, which is available from December 24-27 2013, includes a welcome mince pie and hot drink in the hotel’s Brayford Café on arrival, a three-course meal on Christmas Eve, a five-course Christmas lunch plus a light festive dinner on Christmas Day, dinner on Boxing Day evening and breakfast daily.

DoubleTree by Hilton Chester has an overnight Christmas package from £105 per person including Christmas Day lunch, served in the hotel’s ballroom, and breakfast the following morning. Guests get access to the hotel’s spa on Boxing Day with its sauna, steam room, hammam, indoor swimming pool and Watsu pool with waterfall. A range of spa treatments are available for an additional charge.

DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge is welcoming guests into the riverside hotel on Christmas Eve until Boxing Day (two nights) from £169 per person, including breakfast. The five-course Christmas Day lunch, costing an additional £85 per person, includes a glass of Champagne on arrival in the Twist Bar, a choice of starters, main courses and desserts, an intermediate course of Champagne and strawberry sorbet and coffee served with petit fours to finish.

Dublin

The company’s first hotel in Ireland, The Morrison Dublin – a DoubleTree by Hilton has a two-night package from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day from €249 (£207) per person, which includes a three-course lunch and a buffet dinner on Christmas Day and breakfast daily. Those travelling with children can take advantage of the special kids’ zone available on Christmas Day afternoon to keep them entertained with movies & board games.
